In 1902 William married Beatrice Lily Gower. Beatrice, who was sometimes known as Lily, came from Beccles.
Herbert John Simonds

Herbert was born at Langmere, Norfolk, in 1879, a son of Robert Beart and Ellen Simonds. In 1881 they lived at Gissing, Norfolk, and by 1891 the family had moved to Lowestoft and lived at 94 London Road, Kirkley. Later his parents lived at Diss, Norfolk.
In 1901 Herbert had a confectionery shop at 17 Saint Peters Street. In 1906 Herbert married Lily Tredgill at Eye, Suffolk. In 1911 their home was at 17 Saint Peters Street where they ran a tobacconist and confectionery shop.
Thomas Smith
A Boatswain with Steam Trawler Andromache. Thomas died on 12th of April 1917 at the age of 38.
Thomas was born at Lowestoft in 1880, a son of William Henry and Mary Smith. In 1881 his family lived at at 1881 3 Clement Square, and by 1891 at 4 Albany Cottages, Carlton Road, which was still their home in 1901. By 1911 they were living at 2 Birds Lane, Kirkley.
Thomas worked as a fisherman (possibly with the trawler Cecilia in 1901 or the trawler Elizabeth Swan).
Patrick Clare Smith
A Sergeant with 148 (The Bedfordshire Yeomanry) Field Regiment, Patrick died on 24th of July 1943 aged 37.
Patrick was born at Druncliff (sic), County Clare, Ireland, on 2 January 1906, a son of Jonathan and Sarah Ann Smith. Patrick’s father had served with the Royal Artillery for 27 years and volunteered to rejoin the artillery in 1914 and served throughout the First World War. In 1911 his family lived at 4 Ashby Road, Lowestoft, and this was still their address in 1919.
Arthur Soanes
A Deck Hand with H.M. Smack Ethel and Millie, Arthur died on 16th of August 1917 at the age of 38.
Arthur was born at Burgh St. Peter, Norfolk, on 6 January 1879, a son of George and Sarah Soanes. He was baptised at Aldeby, Suffolk, on 20 July 1879. In 1881 his family lived at Beccles Road, Burgh St. Peter.
John William Spooner
A Second Hand with H.M. Trawler Whooper, John died on 30th of June 1916 at the age of 38.
John was born at Lowestoft on 30 September 1878, a son of William Griffiths and Mary Ann Spooner. In 1881 his family lived at 7 Arnold Road, Lowestoft, and by 1891 they were living at County Villas, 5 Regent Road.
Frederick Charles Stebbings
An Engineman with H.M. Trawler Joseph Button. Frederick died on 22nd of October 1940 at the age of 38.
Frederick was born at Oulton on 20 February 1903, a son of Samuel and Emma Eliza Stebbings. In 1911 his family lived at Oulton Street, Oulton. Later their home was at 8 Meadow Cottages, Oulton, Lowestoft.
Frederick enrolled in the Royal Naval Reserve on 16 March 1933, and re-enrolled in 1938.
Arthur Daniel Sterry

Arthur was born at Lowestoft in 1879, a son of Alfred and Mary Eliza Sterry. In 1881 his family lived at 6 Stevens Street. Arthur was baptised at Saint John’s Church on 27 October 1882. By 1891 Arthur’s father had died and the family lived at 6 Haward Street. In 1901 Arthur was a fish worker and he lodged with Samuel and Clara Smith at 2 Cook’s Buildings.

Robert Stanley Thaxton
A Corporal with the 4th Battalion, Robert died on 18th of July 1918 at the age of 38.
Robert was born at Bridgewater, Somerset, in 1880, a son of George Alfred and Mary Jane Thaxton. He was baptised at Holy Trinity Church, Bridgwater, on 4 July 1880. By 1881 his family had moved to Norwich and were living at 2 Magpie Road. In 1891 they lived at 26 Starling Place, Coburg Street, and Robert was a news boy.
Charles Henry Frank Underwood
A Corporal with Derby Depot, Charles died on 16th of January 1945 at the age of 38.
Charles was born at Bramdean, Hampshire, on 9 October 1906, a son of Edward and Margret Underwood. He was baptised at Bramdean Parish Church on 14 October 1906 and his family live at Bramdean Common. In 1911 his family lived at West Meon, near Petersfield, and by 1921 they were living at Whitewood Cottages, Herriard, and Charles worked as a garden boy at Herriard Park.
Charles married Annie Elizabeth Scarff in 1926, this was registered in the Alton district. Annie was born at Lowestoft.

Charles was born at Carlton Colville on 15 January 1876, a son of William and Maria West of Bridge Road Oulton Broad. In 1881 his family lived at Beccles Road, Carlton Colville. By 1901 they were living at Main Road, Carlton Colville. Later his mother lived at Bridge Road, Oulton Broad.
Charles joined the Royal Navy, as a Boy 2nd Class, on 17 February 1891. He was awarded the Royal Navy Long Service and Good Conduct Medal in 1911.

Charles Henry Burgoyne Wilton
A Civilian, Charles died on 7th of February 1941 at the age of 38.
Charles was born at Lowestoft on 1 July 1902, a son of Edward Bert and Jane Emma Wilton. He was baptised at Saint John's Church, Lowestoft, on 25 July 1902 and his family lived at Rotterdam Road.
George Henry Wright

George was born at Norwich on 26 August 1902, a son of George Henry and Priscilla Wright. On 26 April 1909 when George, and his older brother Arthur, became pupils at Saint Margaret’s School, Lowestoft, and his family lived at ‘Norwich House’.
The 1911 Census shows his family living at 13 Pigg’s Lane, Norwich. By 1921 his family was living at 28 White Horse Street, Lowestoft, and George worked as a carter for Ellis and Sons at Whapload Road.
